rancesca Keller grew up in Berne. Already as a young girl, she passionately loved to sing. After her first classical singing lessons at the Berne Conservatory, she discovered her great love for jazz. She took singing lessons with Pascal Dussex at the Swiss Jazz School and was soon on the stage as a singer for various jazz bands. After a one-year preliminary course at the Jazz School in Berne, her great dream was fulfilled: She was accepted into the world-renowned “Berklee College of Music” in Boston in the USA.

In 2001, Francesca Keller completed her four-year educational programme for a “Bachelor of Music” degree with distinction and top grades. Among her teachers were well-known musicians such as Hal Crook, Bob Stoloff or Anne Peckham. Her mentor was none other than Kevin Mahogany who is among the best jazz singers in the world. He greatly encouraged her to find her own style and still remains an important source of inspiration for the singer.
Francesca Keller is never satisfied in just exhausting the standard jazz repertoire. The temperamental woman from Berne wants to produce something that is uniquely original, to create her own music and sing her own songs. Together with the Berne saxophonist Araxi Karnusian, she has also succeeded in this with her debut album “Beyond”: It is a collection of songs with many nuances, both catchy and wide-ranging.

Nach erstem klassischen Gesangsunterricht am Berner Konservatorium entdeckte sie ihre grosse Liebe zum Jazz. Die vierjährige Ausbildung zum „Bachelor of Music“ schloss Francesca Keller 2001 mit Bestnote und Auszeichnung ab. Zu ihren Lehrern gehörten bekannte Musiker wie Hal Crook, Bob Stoloff oder Anne Peckham. Ihr Mentor war kein Geringerer als Kevin Mahogany, der zur Weltspitze der Jazzsänger zählt. Er hat sie stark darin gefördert, ihren eigenen Stil zu finden und ist nach wie vor eine wichtige Inspirationsquelle für die Sängerin.
Francesca Keller begnügt sich nie damit, nur aus dem Jazz-Standards-Repertoire zu schöpfen. Die temperamentvolle Bernerin will etwas Eigenständiges schaffen, ihre eigene Musik kreieren, eigene Songs singen. Gemeinsam mit der Berner Saxophonistin Araxi Karnusian ist ihr dies mit dem Debutalbum „Beyond“ auch gelungen: Es ist eine Sammlung nuancenreicher Songs, eingängig und vielfältig zugleich.
